livingwell7.......check it out!
Check out Courtney's post on fransar at the Fremont Market! Courtney has a good eye for style and an amazing blog-Livingwell7!!! We share the same excitement for the Novogratz family.
fransar sign made from an old "creeper"
My idea originally was to build a sign for the market from some scrap pallet wood I had. But after hitting some garage sales last weekend...I found the perfect sign! I didn't know what you call these until I just googled it, its a "creeper." (old mechanic cart used to slide under the car) The man I bought it from looked at me like I was crazy when I was so excited to have found it. I took the pillow and casters off...sanded it down and hand painted the sign. I liked the end result.

urban table...
I bought this table at the market. It needed some tlc...and I added the stained wood that I had left over from a previous project. This table will be at the Fremont Market July 24th.

sheek grey desk
Saw the potential in this homemade 80's blue desk. I cut and sanded pallet wood from picture above to front the drawers. Taking palletts apart is not an easy task but the end result is fantastic...thanks Retta for helping me rip them apart!
metal box as a side table
Upon finding these boxes at a salvage yard, (I have another one for sale at the vintage angel with the original lid attached) I knew they would be nice little tables on casters. I drilled holes at the base to attach wheels. Thanks Ray for the glass!!! Glad you saved it!!!

National Folk Artist- Butch Anthony

You can find more pictures of Butch Anthony's work and the home he built in this article: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/08/garden/08doonanny.html
Looking for inspiration for some upcoming chandeliers, I revisited some pictures I had saved of folk art chandeliers. Checking out the Alabama Chanin website ages ago, I fell in love with Butch Anthony's cow jaw bone chandelier. I was amazed to find out that Mr. Anthony builds cabins, makes art out of junk and hosts the annual "Doo Nanny" fest in Alabama. Hope you enjoy the artist shootout!

“We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers. They see things in the soft haze of a spring day or in the red fire of a long winter's evening. Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true.” - Woodrow T. Wilson
